Foxcroft boys soccer and Dexter field hockey continue march towards tournament play

The Foxcroft Ponies boys soccer team improved to 9-1-1 when they defeated Dexter 8-0 on Saturday morning. Nate Church and Antonio Ayala powered a balanced Ponies attack with two goals each. Ryan Cary, Tobi Hogfeldt, Dylan Harmon-Weeks, and Phillip Pleninger each had one goal. Hogfeldt had three assists, Ayala had two, while Harmon-Weeks and Blake Arno had one assist each.

Andrew Miles made seven saves on nine shots for Foxcroft. Josh Simcock made 23 saves on 45 shots for 1-10 Dexter.

“I was really pleased with the team effort today. It’s great to different players score,”Foxcroft coach Tino Ayala said. “It was a complete team effort today. Offensively and Defensively we looked good today”

The early game at Dexter was a girls soccer match between the Tigers and Ponies. Bernise Bartlett and Jenna Clukey each scored a goal in a 2-0 Foxcroft win.

The Afternoon at Dexter homecoming started with a LTC football clash between the Tigers and Mattanawcook. Dexter held a halftime lead. The Lynx put up 42 points and 302 total yards in the second half in a 42-14 victory.

The Dexter field hockey team started their week with a loss at Guilford against PCHS. They followed that up by giving Foxcroft their first loss of the season. The Tigers finished the week with a 1-0 win over Mattanawcook. Abi Webber scored the only goal of the game with 22:31 remaining in the second half. Dexter outshot the Lynx 20-1.
